At South Louisiana Mediation LLC, we guide individuals, families, and businesses through conflict with neutral, results-driven mediation and arbitration services. Our goal is to foster productive conversations that lead to fair, efficient, and lasting resolutions.
Arbitration in its simplest form is when parties agree to have an arbitraor rule on their case rather than a judge. Arbitration cases are typically small claims or disputes between two parties that cannot reach a mutal agreement.
There are two types of arbitration.
Each party is allowed to present their case, evidence and witnesses, if necessary, after all information has been presented, the arbitrator rules in someone's favor.
Mediation is an alternative conflict resolution method. It is voluntary but may be recommended/encouraged by your lawyer, councilor, co-workers or employer.
In mediation, we encourage our clients to come to a compromise by exploring each others points of views, reasonings, and explanations. We act as a guide merely there to help control tempers and ask questions to invoke thought and solutions. We will, at times, make reasonable suggestions. These suggestions are neutral and not beneficial to one party over another.
Mediation may be used in family and professional matters with great outcomes.
The goal of mediation is to reach an agreement and have all parties sign a Memorandum of Agreement at the end of the session. Mediation is not counseling and is not a long-term investment. In many cases, a resolution is reached with only 1-3 sessions.
